The "Dark Side" of the moon never faces the sun.
WHY ISN'T THIS TRUE?
First of all, there is no "dark side" of the moon. There is however, a side that we on Earth never see. This side does receive light, but we never see it due to the fact that it never faces Earth. This is because the moon takes the same amount of time to rotate on its axis as it takes to complete its orbit around the Earth.

This gif models why this myth is just that - a myth. Basically, the moon revolves around the earth at the same rate we rotate on our axis. Because of this, we only see one side of the moon. However, the sun shines on all sides of the moon, just at different times of the day. So in reality, there is no "Dark Side of the Moon," because all parts of the moon get an equal amount of sunlight. It may appear that only one side receives light, but in reality, the moon rotates and receives light on different areas.
